The Sanskrit word “Samādhi” (Sanskrit: समाधि ) means to acquire integration, or wholeness/truth. The term refers to a higher level of one-pointed, non-dualistic meditation in which the consciousness of the experiencing subject becomes one with the experienced object.
The health benefits of meditation have been known for thousands of years and include improved concentration, increased intelligence, stress reduction, and help with anxiety and depression.
The purpose of our class is to teach and practice meditation in a group setting. Generally, the format is a brief talk about meditation, some instruction and then a 30-minute sit (please arrive 5 minutes early). After the sit the group discusses our experiences.

The group is led by Michael Warshal, meditation practitioner and yogi. Michael has studied various forms of Buddhist meditation. He teaches a simple form of meditation practice that anyone can learn.
